Do you still choose antibiotics to treat prostatitis?

What is an antibiotic? Antibiotic is a type of microorganism that can restrict or kill other microorganisms or bacteria. antibiotics commonly is produced by bacteria or other microorganisms during their growing or reproductive period. Antibiotic not only can kill bacteria, but also can cure microorganism like chlamydia, mycete, and mycoplasma.

You may know that some types of prostatitis are caused by bacteria, which called acute bacterial prostatitis or chronic bacterial prostatitis. Thus, most of the time, doctors commonly recommend patients to take antibiotic to cure their prostatitis. However, since antibiotic is so excellent, is there any cautions patients have to pay attention to?

With the widely usage of antibiotic, more and more people knows that antibiotic has excellent effect in treating bacterial diseases. But many people are easy to take antibiotic to cure virus diseases, which is wrong. Antibiotic only can work on bacteria, so virus cannot be cured by antibiotic. Thus, chronic nonbacterial prostatitis patients should not take antibiotic.

Although antibiotic can be used to cure disease, it also produce side-effects. There is no antibiotic without side-effects. Those antibiotics such as Streptomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin can damage some nerve to make your deaf. Penicillin can cause allergic shock. So, before taking antibiotic, you should figure out what type of side-effects the antibiotic you taken will bring to you.

Newborn, old people and those who have had liver and kidney problems should not take those antibiotic which metabolize by liver or kidney. Prostatitis patients should do a allergic test in hospital and then decide what kind of antibiotic you to take.

All in all, antibiotic is good but also companies with side-effects, so patients should make a careful research before taking. What’s more, if there is other choice such as herbal medicine, please don’t choose antibiotic because of drug resistance.
